Abstract
The present Directive establishes animal health conditions governing intra-Community trade in and importation from third countries of fresh and frozen embryos of domestic animals of the bovine species. The application scope does not include embryos resulting from in vitro fertilization. An animal health certificate drawn up by an official veterinarian of the Member State of collection on a form conforming to the specimen in Annex C shall accompany each consignment of embryos. Conditions concerning the collection, processing, storage and transport of embryos by the approved embryo collection team are laid down. Further provisions deal with safeguard and control measures.
