Abstract
This Regulation sets out rules for the application by the European Community of the conservation and enforcement measures established by the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (NAFO). To this end, the Regulation lays down provisions applying to all commercial fishing activities conducted by European Community fishing vessels fishing for species covered by the NAFO Convention in the corresponding Regulatory Area. The provisions, which aim and ensuring the rational exploitation of fishery resources, deal with mesh sizes, minimum sizes under which species may not be captured, closed areas and seasons.
