Abstract
This Directive lays down particular amendments to articles 1 and 3 as well as the Annexes attached to Directive 95/2/EC, which makes provision applicable to food additives other than colours and sweeteners. As regards article 1, a new definition of stabilizers is hereby given. New paragraph 3 is added to article 3. According to this new provision, the level of additives in flavourings shall be limited to the minimum necessary to guarantee the safety and quality of flavourings and to facilitate their storage. The presence of additives must not mislead consumers nor present a hazard to their health. The Annexes shall be amended as set out in the Annex attached to this Directive.
