Law on Agriculture.

This Law governs the goals and measures of agricultural policy, the beneficiaries, the types of activities of farms, sustainable agriculture, institutional support, administrative monitoring and reporting on agriculture, administration and inspection.
The objectives of agricultural policy are: a) food security of the population that settled in the increasingly competitive domestic agricultural products; b) to promote production efficiency and markets in agriculture, to enhance competitiveness in domestic and world markets; c) providing adequate living standards in rural areas and contribute to the stability of agricultural income; d) providing consumers with access to adequate and stable supply of food in accordance with their requirements, especially considering the price of food, food quality and food safety and nutrition; e) preservation of natural resources by promoting sustainable, organic agriculture, in particular; f) preservation and improvement of rural areas and rural values.
Agriculture is a strategic activity and its economic, ecological and social roles contribute to the sustainable development of the Croatian Republic.
