Abstract
This Regulation defines the genera, species and hybrids of fruit types that can be certified as official categories of propagating material for the production/cultivation of fruit plants.
This Regulation further determines the production process for propagating material and fruit plants and additional obligations to be met by suppliers of such materials, identification and monitoring of critical points in the production process, technical inspection and supervision (official control), issuing of necessary certificates, certificates, packaging, labelling, marketing, trade and storage of propagating material of fruit plants, including the minimum conditions for small producers and many other relevant issues.
This text also adopts the rules contained in the following documents: Council Directive 2008/90/EC of 29 September 2008 on the marketing of propagating material and fruit plants intended for fruit production; Implementing Commission Directive 2014/96/EU of 15 October 2014 on the conditions of labelling, sealing and packaging of propagating material and fruit plants intended for fruit production within the scope of Council Directive 2008/90/EC; Implementing Commission Directive 2014/98/EU of 15 October 2014 that implements the Council Directive 2008/90/EC as regards the specific requirements for genus and species pf plants listed in its Annex I, the specific requirements to be met by suppliers and detailed rules on official inspections.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.
