Abstract
This Act, consisting of 8 Chapters and two Schedules, establishes the composition, duties and responsibilities of the State Veterinary Council, in accordance with an agreement made under section 33. This State Veterinary Council is entitled to maintain the registers of the veterinary practitioners and for matters connected. The Act is divided as follows: Preliminary (I); Indian Veterinary Council (II); Indian Veterinary Practitioner Register (III); Privileges of Registered Veterinary Practitioners (IV); Discipline (V); State Veterinary Council (VI); Registration (VII); Miscellaneous (VIII). Schedules deal with Recognised Veterinary Qualifications Granted by Universities and Veterinary Institutions in or outside India.
