Abstract
The present Law determines legal, organizational, economic and social basis for carrying out state regulation of the development of agro-industrial complex and rural areas. Agro-industrial complex is the totality of the branches of economy including processing, procurement, storage, transport and trade of agricultural commodities, fish products and foodstuffs and ensuring veterinary, sanitary and phytosanitary safety thereof. The purposes of state regulation of the development of agro-industrial complex and rural areas are: 1) development of engineering infrastructure and ensuring favourable living conditions to the population; 2) ensuring food security of the state. State regulation shall be carried out in conformity with the following principles: 1) priority development of agro-industrial complex and rural areas having potential for the economic growth; 2) compliance with the requirements of the international agreements on agriculture and sanitary and phytosanitary requirements; 3) ecological safety of agro-industrial complex; 4) ensuring the required annual amount of state subsidies to the agro-industrial complex (art. 3). The Law consists of 4 Sections composed of 21 articles.
