Abstract
This Resolution regulates the import of chilled and frozen meat (cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats, camels and pigs) from the list of countries recognized by the OIE as free of contamination. The use of hormones and steroids is regulated by the provisions of the Codex Alimentarius. Foreign producers wanting to export their products to Lebanon shall register their companies at the Directorate of Livestock. A recent HACCP or an ISO22000 are necessary to this aim in addition to a list of other requirements. The Resolution regulates also the processing, packaging, labelling and transporting procedures. All the requirements of Resolution No. 57/1 of 20 February 2006 regarding the sampling methods of animal food products shall be respected. Further requirements are needed for the import of meat slaughtered in the Islamic way (halal).

This Resolution repeals Resolution No. 144/1 of 6 March 1998, Resolution No. 105/1 of 10 April 2004, Resolution No. 90/1 of 20 September 1999, Resolution No. 366 of 13 November 2001, Resolution No. 191/1 of 30 June 2004 and any other provision inconsistent with its content.
