Abstract
This Act amend other Act relating to suspension or modification of powers and services for the duration of the Covid-19 period and for a period thereafter as may be established. As to water supply, no surcharge shall, notwithstanding subsection 21A(3)(a), be imposed and the water supply shall not be disconnected, provided that the amount of fees, rates, charges or other duties that the person owed to the Waste Water Management Authority is paid not later than such period as may be prescribed. The Consumer Protection (Price and Supplies Control) Act is amended to introduce fixed penalties. Amendment of the Environment Protection Act concern, among other things, expiration of EIA licences. The Income Tax Act is amended so as to provides, among other things, for a Covid levy and assistance schemes. The Landlord and Tenant Act is amended so as to prescribe that non-payment of rent during the Covid period shall not constitute a breach of a tenancy agreement. The Plant Protection Act is amended with respect to issue of plant import permits by the NPPO.
