Decree No. 45/2012 establishing the legal regime for production, import/export, storage, transport and trade of petroleum products.

This Decree, consisting of 8 Chapters, establishes the legal regime for production, import/export, storage, transport and trade of petroleum products. It aims at: guaranteeing the supply of petroleum products in quality, effective and economic ways according to market conditions; facilitating investments and the creation of work opportunities increasing the income generating activities in particular in rural areas; promoting the safety of people, goods and environment for any activity related to petroleum products, from production or import up to the supply to final costumers; promoting market development for petroleum products; the participation of National entrepreneurship in the sector of liquid fuel; energetic science and the rational use of petroleum natural resources, as well as promoting the protection of environment; and creating conditions for increase family farming within the National territory.
