Abstract
This Decree, approves the Regulation for the Inspection Activity on Mineral and Energy Resources. The Regulation, consisting of 52 articles divided into six Chapters, a glossary and eight Annexes, establishes specific rules, principles and procedures governing the exercise of the Inspection Activity to be carried out on Mineral and Energy Resources. This Regulation shall apply throughout the national territory where are implemented the following activities: mining, petroleum operations, energy infrastructures, production, reception, storage, handling, distribution, marketing, transportation, export and re-export of petroleum products. The Regulation also applies to non-titular natural or legal persons involved in mining, oil and energy activities. The General Inspectorate carries out, among other activities, control and supervision of compliance with Laws, Regulations and other legal provisions applicable to mining, oil and energy activities, technical safety and environmental standards, rescue, in order to ensure the rational and sustainable use of the country's mineral, oil and energy resources.
