Abstract
This Order sets out measures to prevent the spreading of Bluetongue in Jersey. The Minister may declare protection zones or surveillance zones in accordance with Council Directive 2000/75/EC laying down specific provisions for the control and eradication of bluetongue. Vaccination may be required by a Veterinary Officer in a protection zone, whereas vaccination in a surveillance zone is prohibited. When a declaration is in force, export of a ruminating animal, embryo, ovum or semen from Jersey requires a licence granted by the Veterinary Officer.
