Abstract
The Decree consists of 31 sections divided into 7 Chapters: Scope, application sphere, and definitions (I); General provisions relative to export (II); General provisions relative to import (III); Import of foodstuffs and products of animal origin from countries of the EEA (IV); Import of foodstuffs and other products of animal origin under Chapter IV (V); Import of foodstuffs other than those of animal origin from countries outside the EEA (VI); Administrative provisions (VII).
The scope of the Decree is to provide for control over international trade of food and other animal products, including fish and fish products, so as to secure good quality and to safeguard the health of persons and animals. Provisions are made for the registration of importers, border control, etc.
