Abstract
The Act applies to livestock and cultivated products, products made from them and products from wild growing plants. The Government may define further to which products the Act shall apply (sect. 1). The Government may issue rules relative to control of such products traded in Norway, imported or exported. These rules may be issued in order to: prevent misrepresentations of products; to regulate packing and labelling; to provide for classification of products according to treatment, contents, quality, quantity, or size; establish criteria for importation and exportation of such products, geographical indications, etc.. The Government may also create an internal and an external control system. It may also charge municipal food control authorities with control tasks. (6 sections)
