Abstract
The text of the Decree consists of 15 articles divided into 4 Chapters: Scope, application sphere and definitions (I); General requirements (II); Specific provisions regarding health control of different types of aquaculture animals (III); Other provisions (IV).
The Decree aims at the good health aquatic animals and the prevention of unnecessary suffering by such animals. The application sphere of the Decree is defined in article 2. Article 3 contains definitions. Article 4 prescribes minimum risk-based health control for all animals living in aquacultural installations including sea ranching. Article 5 prescribes the content of the inspection, whereas section 6 requires a record of inspections to be kept. Chapter III prescribes health control for fish used for breeding, fish for consumption, crustaceans and control of installations.
