Decree-Law No. 19/93 defining protected areas.

This Decree-Law defines protected areas in order to manage wildlife communities. It consists of 37 articles specifying requirements and purposes to be satisfied by protected areas. It defines different types and classifications of protected area, composition, duties and competence of responsible authorities, controls and sanctions to be applied for offenders. It also establishes public and private protected areas requirements, etc.
