Abstract
This Act is divided into the following Parts: I, Preliminary; II, Administration and Enforcement; III, Sale of Food; IV, Food Establishments; V,Presumptions of Law; VI, Legal Proceedings; VII, Supplementary Provisions; Schedules I, II.
The Act provides for the processing, manufacturing, storing and trading of food so that food for human consumption could be guaranteed as per quality and safety. Provisions are detailed for adulterated food, use and prescribed doses of additives, food containing alcohol, food unfit for human consumption and labelling of food.
The Act further provides for the: licensing of food establishments; liability of importers, packers or manufacturers; offences and penalties; etc.
