Abstract
This Act sets out the legal framework concerning the protection of the environment. It defines the functions of public authorities in this field as well as rights and obligations of legal persons and individuals. The purpose of the Act is to ensure the long-term preservation of natural balance and diversity of conditions and forms of life, natural values and beauties, and to create conditions for sustainable use of natural resources and provision of ecosystem services, taking into account economic, social and cultural needs, as well as regional and local conditions.
The present Act is composed of the following Sections: (1) Introductory provisions; (2) General protection of nature and landscape; (3) Particular provisions on the protection of nature and landscape; (4) Documentation on nature protection, financial allowance and limitation of possession rights; (5) Public authorities; (6) Enforcement; (7) Liability and obligations in the area of nature protection; (8) Compensation of harms caused by animals; (9) Common, temporary and final provisions.
