Abstract
The aim of this Law is to protect the animals including wild animals, to preserve their right to life and to prevent them from pain and torture. It contains specific provisions on slaughtering, keeping of animals, ethology, protection of wild species, pets, equine animals and animals for human consumption. The Act further provides for supervision, restrictions regarding the keeping of animals, medical treatment and slaughtering of animals and contains penalty provisions.
