Abstract
This Law provides for the establishment of an agricultural insurance pool as a legal entity, in order to guarantee the risks within the scope of this Law, determine standard insurance policies, organize damage assessments, conduct actuarial studies, make compensation payments, provide reinsurance coverage, develop, disseminate and monitor agricultural insurance and carry out other technical services. The purpose of this Law is to ensure that producers are compensated for the damages they may suffer due to the risks specified in this Law. The risks for plants, plant products and greenhouses, agricultural structures, agricultural equipment and machinery and farm animals to be covered by the agricultural insurance pool are set out in Article 12 as follows: drought, hail, frost, flood, groundwater floods, storms, cyclones, earthquakes, landslides, fires, damages due to pests and animal diseases, and other risks deemed important for the agricultural sector. Additionally, it lays down the duties, powers, and responsibilities of the Pool, including risk sharing, reinsurance implementation, premium collection, compensation payments, public awareness campaigns, statistical reporting, and investment management within established guidelines.

This Law enters into force on the day it is published in the Official Journal. Article. 4 of this Law enters into force three months after its publication in the Official Journal.
