Abstract
This Regulation sets forth the principles and procedures for identifying, registering and monitoring bovines. The Ministry of Food Agriculture and Livestock is responsible for all activities related to the identification, registration and monitoring of such animals. The Regulation also specifies the responsibilities and obligations of the General Directorate of Protection and Control and local offices of the Ministry, as well as animal owners. The Regulation further covers provisions on methods of identification, type of equipments to be used, technical specification on numeration system, record keeping of animals, facilities and owners of these animals and facilities, establishment of a database concerning above data, movement certificates, and provisions on the inspection and control of the identified and registered animals and facilities. This Regulation is drafted in accordance with the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council No. 1760/2000/EC, No. 494/98/EC, No. 1082/2003/EC, No. 911/2004/EC, 2006/28/EC.
