Law No. 2662-IV “On grape and grape wine”.

This Law regulates legal relations in the sphere of viticulture and wine-making, establishes regulation and control in the aforesaid sphere, rights and duties of the producers, competence of executive bodies, and is aimed at strengthening repression of adulteration and fraud of wine products. It shall be applicable to natural and legal persons whose activity is related to processing, trade, export and import of wine commodities. It shall not be applicable to the producers of homemade wine for personal consumption. Vineries shall be subject to compulsory registration by the competent authority. Central executive body in the sphere of agrarian policy and food shall establish areas for viticulture. Technical grape species complying with state standards shall be used for production of wile and cognac. Wine production shall be carried out by economic entities in accordance with licence. Use of imported wine materials non-complying with the national standards for national wine production shall be prohibited. In case of absence of authorization for wine production manufacturing of labels shall be prohibited. A notarized copy of licence for wine production shall be submitted together with contract for manufacturing of labels. This Law consists of 5 Sections divided into 15 Articles: (1) general provisions; (2) raw materials for viticulture and wine production; (3) viticulture (wine processing); (4) regulatory authority and law enforcement bodies in the sphere of viticulture; and (5) final provisions.
