Abstract
These Regulations provide for various matters relating to the application for and granting of plant breeders’ rights, their registration, their transfer, termination or surrender, for compulsory licences, and other matters relative to protection and use of rights. A plant breeders’ right may be granted in respect of varieties of plant specified in column 1 of Table 1 to these Regulations (reg. 2) and the period for which a right in respect of such varieties may be granted is specified in column 3 of the same Table (reg. 11). Regulation 3 specifies documents that shall accompany an application. Regulation 4 concerns the priority of applications. Regulation 5 lays down rules for the denomination of a plant variety. Objections against an application may be lodged with the registrar in accordance with regulation 8. Regulation 13 provides for the application of compulsory licences. Regulation lays down conditions for recognition of agents by the Registrar. Regulation 20 specifies data which shall be entered into the Register of Plant Breeders’ Rights. (24 regulations)
