Abstract
This Law sets various basic principles and necessary technical and administrative conditions aimed to impose the correct and controlled manner of carrying out what is here defined as veterinary activity/activities, including several animal health protection issues (vaccination and other drugs, also regulated by specific Law on veterinary medicinal products); also setting the rules regarding the detection, prevention of the occurrence, suppression and eradication of infectious animal diseases; prevention of common animal and human diseases; implementation of veterinary public health provisions and rules to be respected; veterinary and health control of all animals (if under the terms of this Law); reporting and data delivery to competent international institutions/bodies.
This Law further stipulates several provisions regarding the animal and animal by-products (also HACCP provisions), animal reproduction, necessary official control and veterinary inspection requirements and rules (many sanitary requirements and practices at all stages of animal presence), animal marking provisions, veterinary service and other linked veterinary organizations, veterinary information system, and other related issues. Animals in terms of this text are animals from the equine family (horses, donkeys, mules, mules), animals of the ungulate family (cattle, sheep, goats, pigs), poultry (chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks and other birds reared or kept for meat production, breeding or consuming eggs and other products and wild birds for breeding and breeding), ornamental, foreign and wild birds, mammals, dogs, cats, rabbits, bees, silkworms, pollinating insects and other arthropods, fish, crabs, frogs, snails, bivalve molluscs and other molluscs, hedgehogs, turtles and other reptiles, arthropods, game, animals intended for experiments and production of reproductive material.
This text is divided into XI Chapters and 126 articles, containing the list of all repealed legislation; and including the offences and consequential penalties.
