Abstract
This Law, consisting of 20 articles, provides for the adoption of measures for animal health protection. The State Policy aims at: fighting, preventing, controlling and eradicating animal diseases; organizing, coordinating and implementing surveillance on animal health, integrating them to the Unified System for the Agricultural Health established by the Federal Law No. 9.712; stimulating, organizing and coordinating community involvement in actions of animal health protection; and creating the instruments to prevent the introduction of relevant pathogens to animal and public health in the state.
