Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to ensure the control and regulation in any or all aspects of the producing and marketing within Ontario of farm products, including the prohibition of such producing or marketing in whole or in part. The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms employed therein such as, for example, “Commission”, “farm product”, “licence”, “local board”, “marketing”, “plant”, “regulated product”, etc. The Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission may: a) settle any dispute relating to the marketing of a regulated product between producers and persons engaged in marketing or processing; b) investigate any matter relating to the producing, marketing or processing of a regulated product. Furthermore, the Act deals with, amongst others, issues such as production of records, powers of local boards, limitation of powers of local boards, rights and duties of producer-processors, etc. The Act consists of 22 sections.
