Abstract
The present Law sets out the general framework and provides for the competences, powers, activities and duties of the competent authorities. The regulation of powers and duties aims at guaranteeing the health of animals and the protection of public from animal diseases. The law provides for official veterinary controls (section 9) and requires the immediate notification to the competent authorities in case of an animal disease outbreak (section 6).
