The Production and Marketing of Vegetable Plants and Propagating Material other than Seeds for Sowing Regulations no. 336 of 2005.

This Ministerial Regulation, issued by the Council of Ministers under Article 11 of the Law no. 60/I of 1991 on the Production and Marketing of Plant Propagating Material in its last amended version, and harmonising Cypriot legislation with EU Council Directive 92/33/EEC and its amendments, concerning the marketing of vegetable plants and propagating material, applies to the production and marketing of vegetable propagating material, excluding seeds. The Regulation establishes phytosanitary, quality, and traceability standards, and provides mechanisms for both enforcement and exemptions for small producers, in order to protect plant health, ensure quality, and facilitate trade within the EU and internationally. Matters covered by the Regulation include: general conditions for production and marketing of vegetable plants and propagating materials; absence of pests or symptoms that affect quality or utility; quality standards and respect of phytosanitary conditions; batch separation during production and harvesting; labelling requirements.
