Abstract
The purpose of the present Act is: 1) taking into account ethical values to protect the life and health of people, environment, animals, plants against harmful effects resulting from genetic manipulations; 2) to allow that products, in particular foodstuffs and feedstuffs, be produced and put on the market traditionally and ecologically, or, as the case may be, using genetically modified organisms; 3) to create the legal framework for the exploration, development, use and promotion of the scientific, technical and economic avenues of genetic technology. The text consists of 42 articles divided into 7 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Genetic engineering works in special facilities (II); Releasing and placing on the market (III); Common provisions (IV); Provisions concerning liability (V); Penalties (VI); Transitional and final provisions (VII). Articles 5a, 13, 24, 40 and 41a are deleted.
