Abstract
This Act promotes energy savings and energy efficiency as well as greenhouse gas reduction in accordance with climate and environmental considerations and considerations for security of supply and social economy. The Act shall: ensure the prioritization of energy saving activities; promote cooperation and coordination on the execution of the activities; promote an efficient use of energy through campaigns, market introduction and information; and, promote energy savings and energy efficiency improvements as well as reductions in the emission of greenhouse gases. The Danish Climate and Energy Minister shall promote the realization of cost savings through campaigns, knowledge transfer, deployment and development and dissemination of standardized energy saving products and solutions.
This Act consists of 8 Chapters, of which Chapters 3 and 5 are repealed: Purpose and scope (1); Overall framework, prioritization (2); Support for energy savings, energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reductions (3); Energy savings in public institutions (4); Mandatory energy audits etc. for large companies (5); Cost allocation for electricity, natural gas and district heating (6); Appeals, duty of information and penalties (7); Entry into force, amendment provisions (8).
