Abstract
The provisions of this Decree aim at the harmonization of the Greek legislative framework, regarding hazardous substances, with Council Directive 67/548/EEC as amended and in force. In the text of the Decree are set extensive rules, procedures and standards regarding the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous substances. The provisions of the present Decree shall apply to : a) the classification of hazardous substances; b) the exchange of information with regard to the classified substances; c) the evaluation of potential dangers that they may present; d) all the indications that have to be stated when such substances are put on the market.

The Decree enters into force on the date of publication in the Official Gazette except of Chapter 8, point 1 to Annex VI which shall enter into force on 31 October 1997.
