Abstract
These Regulations provide anew for the implementation in Ireland of Council Directive 92/43/EEC on habitats and protection of wild fauna and flora (as amended) and for the implementation of Directive 2009/147/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of wild birds. They provide, among other things, for: the appointment and functions of authorized officers; identification, classification and other procedures relative to the designation of Community sites; conservation objectives and measures, plans and other activities for, or affecting, the protection of European sites; appropriate assessment as referred to in Article 6(3) of 92/43/EEC and Natura Impact Statement; and the protection of wild fauna and flora.
