Abstract
These Regulations give effect to Community legislation setting maximum levels for certain contaminants in foodstuffs and laying down the methods of sampling and analysis for the official control of the levels of contaminants in foodstuffs. The Regulations, among other things, prescribe the competent authority for the EU Regulations and these Regulations and provide for the enforcement of the maximum levels for certain contaminants in foodstuffs and of prescribed methods of sampling, and for sample preparation and methods of analysis.
