Abstract
This Law governs the protection and conservation of nature (geosphere and biosphere unity, including natural resources, geomorphological and landscape diversity) on the territory of the Republic of Montenegro.
Nature conservation measures here prescribed are carried out in order to: provide conservation and improved biological status (genetic, species, ecosystem), geological and landscape diversity; establish and monitor the state of nature; harmonize all human activities, economic and social development plans, programs, basis and projects with sustainable use of renewable energy and rational use of all non-renewable natural assets and resources for their permanent preservation; prevent the harmful activities in nature as a consequence of technological development and performance of various related activities; restore and improve the disturbed nature and its bringing into the state of original natural balance; preserve the natural characteristics of the land, preserving the quality, quantity and availability of water, including the quality of sea water.
The Law is divided into XVII Chapters and 128 articles, including the offences and related penalties.
