Decree-Law No. 102-D/2020 approving the general waste management regime, the legal regime for the disposal of waste in landfills and amending the management regime for specific waste flows, transposing EU Directives 2018/849, 2018/850, 2018/851 and 2018/852.

This Decree-Law approves the general waste management regime, the legal regime for the disposal of waste in landfills and amends the management regime for specific waste flows. It transposes to the internal legal order: i) Directive 94/62/EC, of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 December 1994, on packaging, as amended; ii) Directive 1999/31/EU of the Council of 26 April 1999, on the disposal of waste in landfills, as amended; iii) Directives 2000/53/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 September on vehicles, 2006/66/EC, of the European Parliament and of the Council of 6 September 2006 on batteries and accumulators, and 2012/19/EU, of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 4 July 2012, on electrical and electronic equipment waste, as amended; iv) Directive 2008/98/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 November 2008 on waste, as amended; b) Approves the new general waste management regime; c) Approves the new legal regime for the disposal of waste in landfills; d) Amends the legal framework for environmental impact assessment (RJAIA), established by Decree-Law No. 151-B/2013 of 31 October, as amended; e) Amends Decree-Law No. 42-A/2016 of 12 August, as amended; f) Amends Decree-Law No. 152-D/2017 of 11 December, as amended. Annex I approves the new General Regime for Waste Management; Annex II approves the new legal regime for the waste disposal in landfills.
