Abstract
This Act provides with respect to local government in Zambia. It provides for the establishment of city councils, municipal councils and district councils, township councils or management boards and Provincial Local Government Appeals Boards and defines their functions and powers including the acquisition of land. The Act sets out rules regarding the organization, proceedings and administration of local public bodies and provides for their supervision and control.
