Abstract
The title of the Law has been changed from Law No. 514-IQ on industrial and consumer waste to Law No. 514-IQ on waste, by the Law No. 928-VIQD of 2023. This Law determines state policy in the sphere of environmental protection against industrial and consumer waste, reduction of hazardous impact of the aforesaid substances, ensuring ecological balance, use of waste as utility waste and regulates relations connected with waste, except for noxious gases, polluted water and nuclear waste. The Act consists of 5 Sections composed of 24 articles. Section 1 (arts. 1-6) lays down general provisions. Section 2 (arts. 7-14) regards requirements for carrying out activity connected with waste, including transboundary transportation of waste. Section 3 (arts. 15-17) regards control of activity connected with waste. Section 4 (arts. 18-21) regards economic regulation of activity connected with waste. Section 5 (arts. 22-24) lays down final provisions.

Entry into force notes
Subparagraphs one to four of articles 14(1) and 14(3) of this Law shall enter into force on 1 February 2024, and other provisions of Chapter II-I shall enter into force on 1 September 2024.
