Abstract
This Act applies a) to all mines and minerals and related natural resources vested in or belonging to the Crown in right of Alberta, and b) where the context so permits or requires, to all wells, mines, quarries and minerals in Alberta. Part 1 lays down provisions relating to general powers of the Lieutenant Governor in Council and of the Minister. Part 2 and 3 deal respectively with coal leases and coal mining leases; Part 4 provides for rules concerning petroleum and natural gas, and Part 5 concerns oil sands; Part 8 contains provisions relating to exploration of concerned area. The Act consists of 113 sections divided into 8 Parts.
