Abstract
The present Act is contained in article 1 of the Act of 25 January 2004 (BGBl. I 82) on the implementation of common provisions on the processing and elimination of non-edible animal products. The Act introduces Regulation (EC) No. 1774/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down health rules concerning animal by-products not intended for human consumption into German national legislation. Local authorities of the "Länder" are entrusted with the enforcement of the present Act. They have to organize the collection, transport, storage, handling, processing and use or disposal of animal by-products. Article 10 establishes that any person engaged in consigning, transporting or receiving animal by-products shall keep records of consignments containing the information. The text consists of 16 articles.
Moreover, article 6 of the above-mentioned Act on the implementation of common provisions on the processing and elimination of non-edible animal products repeals the Carcass Elimination Act of 11 April 2001 (BGBl. I p. 523) and the Feedstuff Production Ordinance of 21 December 2001 (BGBl. I p. 737).
Notes
The present Act is consolidated as of 20 December 2022 (BGBl. I S. 2752).
