Abstract
The Order applies to restrictions on import of food with origin in foreign and developing countries. The purpose of the Order is to ensure that proper inspection of food and animals take place and that adherence to EU legislations on animal keeping and health are observed. Inspection of food shall take place in order to exclude the infection and spread of certain diseases.
The Order consists of V Sections and 1 Appendix: Scope and definitions (I); Food of animal origin (II); Non-food of animal origin (III); Import of animal and non-animal food from Japan (IV); Penalties and implementation of entry into force (V).
Appendix 1 - Customs inspection posts for composite foods containing milk, milk products, soy, soy products or ammonium bicarbonate originating in or consigned from China.
