Abstract
This Directive sets out a legislative framework for the continuous improvement of nuclear safety within the European Union. The aim is to ensure the protection of human health against the dangers arising from ionizing radiations from nuclear installations. Member States are required to establish a national legislative, regulatory and organizational framework in this field, in accordance with the general principles and rules set out under this Directive.
