Abstract
This Directive supplements Directive 2003/87/EC by inserting new specific provisions dealing with aviation activities. The aim is to widen the application scope of Directive 2003/87/EC, which sets out a scheme for greenhouse gas emission allowance trading within the European Community in order to promote reductions of greenhouse gas emissions in a cost effective and economically efficient manner.
