Abstract
These Regulations provide for enforcement of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 466/2001 setting maximum levels for contaminants in foodstuffs and provide for the implementation of various Directives concerning control, sampling and analysis of contaminants in foodstuffs. The Regulations define a variety of offences in relation with the placing on the market and use of foodstuffs containing prohibited contaminants or contaminants at levels exceeding prescribed maximum levels. They also prescribe requirements regarding methods of sampling and analysis and provide with respect to enforcement authorities.
