Law on objects of general use.

This Law, in order to protect human health, regulates the concept of general purpose objects, the conditions that general purpose objects must meet in terms of health safety or compliance, the general conditions for the production and placing on the market of general purpose objects, the control system for general purpose objects, systematic laboratory testing to monitor the health safety or compliance of general purpose objects (hereinafter: monitoring), and the rights, duties and powers of competent authorities in relation to general purpose objects produced in the Republic of Croatia or imported and placed on the market of the Republic of Croatia. The provisions of this Law also apply to raw materials and additives for the production of general purpose items. Only a health-safe, or compliant, item of general use may be placed on the market, i.e. one that is correct in terms of sensory properties, type and content of harmful substances, product information, composition and microbiological safety where necessary, and which cannot cause harmful effects on human health and the environment.
