Abstract
An Act to make provision for the establishment of several public bodies for the administration of national parks and nature reserves and for the declaration of parks and reserves. The Government shall establish a National Parks and Nature Reserves Council (sect. 2). The Council may advise on the assignment of areas for national parks or nature reserves, may advise other bodies established by his Act, may approve the imposition of entry fees of parks or reserves, may approve the declaration of a protected natural asset, etc. (sect. 3). There is established a National Parks Authority as a corporation (sects. 10 and 11). The function of this corporation shall be to manage the affairs of national parks. The corporation may delegate to a local authority or association of towns any of its powers relating to such area of a national park as is situated within the area of that local authority (sect. 18). There is established a Nature Reserves Authority (sect. 27). The Authority shall be a corporation which shall manage nature reserves. Where a nature reserve is situated in a national park, the Parks Authority shall not carry out any works therein save with the consent of the Nature Reserves Authority (sect. 39). Sections 40 to 42 provide for the declaration of "Protected Natural Assets".
