Poultry council Law ( Production and Marketing ) – 1963

This Law, of Six Parts and 75 Sections, gives definitions and makes provisions for the institution of a Poultry Council and provides for operational procedures and conditions. Part One: gives definitions. Part Two: announces the institution of a Poultry Council and sets its objectives. The councils’ roles are: a) to plan and regulate poultry production; b) to supervise on breeding; c) to regulate the production of breeding material; d) to regulate the marketing of eggs and poultry meat in Israel and abroad; e) to help and encourage with the creating of cooling facilities for meat and eggs and with marketing and production research; f) to provide with services regarding all aspects of poultry production; g) to supervise upon poultry production as decided by the Minister of Agriculture; h) to operate in order to increase poultry consumption in Israel and abroad. Section (4) announces that the Poultry Council shall be considered as a Corporation in all its operational and legal aspects. Sections (5) to (20) deal with council members appointing. Sections (21) to (30) provides with council operational procedures and sittings procedures. Part Three: provides with Poultry Production Settlement. This part deals with quotas regarding poultry production. National and Personal quotas shall be established by the quotas committee. Section (34) to (37) provide with quotas limitations and procedures. Part Four: sets rules for breeding and for the dealing with breeding material. Part Five: regards Marketing procedures for eggs and poultry. The marketing of eggs and poultry in Israel shall be operated by authorized marketing agents. Sections (48) and (49) regard exportation procedures. The exportation of poultry products shall be operated by the Poultry Council itself. Sections (50) to (51) provide with tax and levies procedures. Part Six: regards council authority issues, budget and appeals committee and general issues.
