Regional Act No. 3 implementing Act No. 157 of 11 February 1992 laying down provisions on the protection of wildlife and restrictions on hunting.

This Regional Act implements Act No. 157 of 1992 by regulating the management of the regional territory as regards wildlife protection and wild birds conservation. The Act consists of nine Titles. Title II provides for the assignment of competences. Directing, coordination, control and programming functions are entrusted to the Region (art. 4). Inspection and application of penalties pertain to the Provinces (art. 5). Title III lays down provisions in matter of planning, giving particular regard to the drafting of Wildlife and Hunting Plans by, on the one hand, the Region and, on the other hand, the Provinces (articles 8 and 9). Title IV of the Act regards the destination of the regional territory for the purposes of this Act. In particular, articles 11 refers to the creation of Territorial Hunting Areas (art. 11). Further provisions concern the establishment of the following protected areas: protection oasis (art. 15); repopulation and capture zones (art. 16); public reproduction centres (art. 17); private reproduction centres (art. 18). Moreover, special protected zones shall be created along birds' migration routes in conformity with Community provisions in force (art. 14). Title V refers directly to hunting: article 27 determines the species which are particularly protected by this Act; article 30 sets forth the hunting calendar; article 31 specifies the hunting gear which is allowed; articles 39 and 40 concern wildlife farming for nutritional, ornamental and repopulation purposes. Article 49 determines the regional fee to be paid in order to obtain the hunting permit. Article 42 sets forth special prohibitions which aim at protecting agricultural production. Title VII regulates inspection and sets out related penalties.
