Abstract
The Act provides for the appointment of the Registrar of Pesticides, who shall be the licensing authority for pesticides, and for the establishment of the Pesticide Formulary Committee, whose functions shall be to advise the Registrar on any important matter relating to the registration of pesticides, approval of containers, storage, formulation, import, sale and use of pesticides and any other matters relating thereto. Further provisions concern the procedure to be followed for the licensing of pesticides, the examination of the application by the Registrar, the issue of the licence, the advertisement and storage of pesticides. The Director shall nominate "authorized officers" for the purposes of carrying out the following functions: (a) ascertain any contravention to the provisions of the Act; (b) analyse samples of pesticides; (c) do all other acts which are connected with the exercise, performance and discharge of the powers, duties and functions under this Act.
