Abstract
This Law prescribes various requirements for the protection and welfare of animals in terms of breeding, keeping, care and housing, protection of farm animals in posture, protection and welfare of animals during their transport, slaughtering and/or killing of animals reared for food production (also for the production of wool, leather, fur and other products), as well as for depopulation and similar operations, including the conditions to be met by slaughterhouses in relation to the protection and welfare of animals at slaughter and killing, protection and welfare of pets and stray animals, animals in zoos and animals used in experimental or educational purposes on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia.
This Law is divided into VIII Chapters and 73 articles, including the offences and penalties.
