Federal Law No.150-FZ of 1996 on firearms.

The present Law regulates relations regarding circulation of firearms and is aimed at protection of human life and public health, environmental protection and protection of natural resources, strengthening control over illegal circulation of firearms. The provisions of the present Law regard also ammunition. The document consists of 29 Articles. Article 1 introduces the main concepts. Art.2 specifies the categories of firearms. Art.3 regards civic firearms. Art.4 regards regulation firearms. Art.6 regards use restrictions. Art.7 regards certification of firearms. Art.8 regards state cadastre of civic firearms and ammunition. Art.9 regards licensing of manufacturing of firearms and their trade. Art.10 establishes categories of persons authorized to purchase firearms. Art.13 establishes rights of Russian nationals to purchase firearms. Art.14 establishes the modalities of purchase of firearms for civic use on the territory of the Russian Federation and import and export of them by foreign nationals. Art.16 regards manufacturing of firearms and ammunition. Art.17 regards import and export of ammunition. Art.18 regards trade of firearms for civic use. Art.20 regards inheritance of firearms for civic use. Art.21 regards trade of firearms for civic use and ammunition. Art.22 regards storage of firearms for civic use and ammunition. Art.26 regards cancellation of licences or authorizations and permits. Art.27 regards withdrawal of firearms and ammunition.Art.28 regards control over circulation of firearms.
